Roanoke, VA Roofing Contractors Offer Energy-efficient Roofing Options

Americans spend a lot of money annually to heat buildings during winter, even more so now that winter temperatures are hitting historic levels. This is the reason behind the advisory from energy companies asking customers to conserve electricity, as reported on The Roanoke Times:

“While Appalachian Power Co. believes it has “sufficient power capacity to serve all of our customers during this time of high demand,” Phil Wright, the utility’s vice president of distribution operations said “voluntarily conserving electricity can help ensure adequate power supplies for everyone and lessens the likelihood that service will be interrupted.”

Appalachian issued the call to conserve electricity today in conjunction with PJM Interconnection, the energy grid operator that serves about 61 million customers from North Carolina to Illinois.

The group asks customers to especially conserve between 3 and 7 p.m., when electricity usage is forecast to hit record levels.

Appalachian Power said PJM had asked it and electricity providers to increase generation to emergency levels.”

On the topic of energy conservation, did you know that one of the best ways to save on electricity is to invest in a new, energy-efficient roof?

How beneficial is an energy-efficient roof?

An energy-efficient roof can save you a significant amount of energy (and money) as well as help keep your family safe and comfortable. According to experts, an energy-efficient roof can reduce power consumption by as much as 40 percent. If this sounds good to you, then you might want to call Roanoke, VA roofing contractors for an estimate.

What are the best energy-efficient roofs in the market?

Certain types of energy-efficient roofing options may prove ideal, depending on your home’s design and location. Metal, for example, is one of the best materials for a new roof as it is durable, strong, and fire-resistant. Tile roofs made of clay or concrete are highly resistant to weather, not to mention they can be shaped into very attractive and decorative designs. If you want a roof that combines the benefits of metal and tile, then stone-coated metal roofing is the best option.

Roof installation is a job best left in the hands of a true professional. Trusted Roanoke roofers like All-in-One Home Solutions will be more than happy to take care of the job for you.
